About the Project

For this project, our focus was on bespoke furniture designed to make the most of a compact panel apartment while keeping the interior visually light and comfortable.

The existing layout included a long hallway with several niches and limited storage possibilities. In the living area, we also needed to create a new kitchen, sufficient storage and a functional TV zone without making the relatively small space feel crowded.

Every piece was therefore designed around the specific dimensions of the apartment, the client's everyday needs and the overall interior concept. The goal was not simply to fill the space with cabinets, but to create furniture with a clear purpose that naturally integrates into the architecture of the apartment.

Bespoke Kitchen

The kitchen was designed in a combination of white, wood and black accents. The light finishes were chosen intentionally – against the light olive walls, they create a distinctive yet visually light composition and prevent the kitchen from appearing too heavy in the compact space.

The design follows a contemporary direction with subtle Scandinavian influences. Most of the fronts are white, while selected upper and central elements feature a wood finish, bringing warmth and contrast to the interior.

At the beginning of the kitchen run, we introduced open shelving to visually soften the transition between the kitchen and living room. This prevents the kitchen from reading as one solid block when entering the room.

Black details, integrated handles and LED lighting complete the clean contemporary appearance.

The kitchen includes an integrated microwave, dishwasher, induction hob and electric oven. The client wanted to keep their existing freestanding refrigerator, so we incorporated it into the overall composition without covering it with cabinet fronts, keeping it fully accessible.

The worktop was selected as a practical and cost-conscious solution with an emphasis on durability. The objective was not to increase the budget unnecessarily, but to find the right balance between appearance, functionality, durability and cost.

TV & Living Area

For the TV zone, we designed a floating wall-mounted cabinet that visually connects with the kitchen through the same materials. White fronts are combined with a wood finish and integrated LED lighting.

The wall-mounted construction keeps the floor visually open and creates a lighter, floating appearance, which is particularly valuable in a smaller living space.

Behind the sofa, we introduced decorative slatted wall panelling, which also serves a practical purpose by concealing cables and technical wiring running along the wall. The same visual element was used in other parts of the apartment to create continuity between the different zones.

A small integrated shelf provides additional space for everyday items while creating a subtle connection between the kitchen and living area.

Bespoke Storage in the Hallway

The long hallway was one of the key challenges of the project. Originally, it was dominated by a large wardrobe that made the circulation area feel narrow and obstructed.

We therefore designed a shallower bespoke wardrobe that provides the necessary storage while maintaining comfortable circulation through the hallway.

The existing niches were then used for several different storage solutions. One of the units combines closed lower cabinets with glass-fronted upper sections, allowing it to function both as practical storage and as a decorative display cabinet.

Another built-in unit was designed to fully occupy one of the existing niches, making maximum use of its available width, depth and height.

Near the entrance, we created a compact drop-off zone with decorative slats and a wall-mounted cabinet for everyday belongings. Additional storage above provides space for smaller items that would otherwise remain visible in the hallway.

The hallway follows the same overall material language as the living area, but the colour palette shifts towards grey, wood and black accents. The grey cabinetry makes the storage more practical and visually distinctive while avoiding a sterile or overly uniform appearance.
