About the project
This project was created for a young family looking for a modern, welcoming, and practical home within a relatively compact apartment. The primary objective was to make the most of every square metre while ensuring the interior remained bright, open, and comfortable.
The project included a complete redesign of the apartment layout while respecting the building's structural walls. The new floor plan created an open living area connecting the living room, kitchen, and entrance hall, along with a spacious bathroom, a children's bedroom for two boys, and a comfortable master bedroom.
The interior was designed in a modern classic style, featuring a soft colour palette, elegant mouldings, and refined details. Light tones, high-quality materials, and carefully planned storage solutions run throughout the apartment, creating a practical yet sophisticated living environment.
Although the project was completed without on-site author supervision due to the distance, the clients received comprehensive technical documentation and a fully developed design package, allowing them to carry out the implementation while staying true to the original concept.
Living room, kitchen, and entrance hall
The main living area was designed as one open and connected space, seamlessly combining the living room, kitchen, and entrance hall. A complete redesign of the layout allowed us to make the apartment feel significantly more spacious while maximizing every square metre.
The interior is finished in soft ivory tones inspired by modern classic design, complemented by subtle mouldings and carefully selected accent colours. One of the key design features is the mirrored wall behind the sofa, which visually enlarges the space and enhances the amount of natural light.
The kitchen was designed as a natural extension of the living area, offering generous work surfaces and storage while maintaining a cohesive look through matching materials, colours, and finishes.
The entrance hall was planned with functionality in mind, featuring built-in wardrobes with natural wood finishes that provide ample storage and create a warm contrast to the light interior. Repeating materials and design details throughout the entire day zone ensure a harmonious, timeless, and visually unified space.
Children's bedroom
The children's bedroom was designed for two boys with a focus on privacy, efficient storage, and long-term functionality.
To increase the usable living area, the original balcony was incorporated into the room, creating a spacious study zone with a large desk for two children and a built-in wardrobe. The main part of the room remained dedicated to sleeping and play.
Each child has their own clearly defined area, visually separated through a combination of blue and white tones. The beds are divided by a functional partition with stair-shaped shelving that also serves as additional storage.
Decorative elements were intentionally designed to be easily removable in the future, allowing the room to transition naturally into a stylish teenage bedroom without requiring major renovations.
Master bedroom
As in the children's room, the original balcony was integrated into the bedroom to expand the living space, creating a comfortable home office area while preserving a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
The interior features soft creamy tones with a few carefully selected accent details. The focal point of the room is the bed, highlighted by a sculptural 3D gypsum feature wall with elegant decorative mouldings.
The bedroom also includes a dedicated makeup area with an LED mirror and spacious built-in wardrobes providing generous storage.
Bathroom
The bathroom combines practicality with a more expressive colour palette. Warm beige tones are paired with deep blue accents, while a striking blue marble feature wall creates a distinctive focal point.
Despite the compact footprint, the space includes built-in storage, a dedicated area for both the washing machine and dryer, storage for towels, and even a designated space for a robotic vacuum cleaner.
Subtle decorative mouldings connect the bathroom with the rest of the apartment, maintaining a cohesive and elegant interior concept throughout the home.
